What was the moment for you this week?

I thought I'd start a reoccurring post on this blog about the moment during our gathering each week that made the most sense to you and gave you a clear understanding of what you were supposed to do this week. Let me make this very clear...this is not a score card for our church were you can talk about your preferences and things you wished were different. Nate made it painfully obvious this week that the church is not a chair. We are a community called out in the name of Jesus to overcome the evil in this world with good. The moment for me this week was when Nate said Jesus has tied up the strongman (Satan) and now he's telling his kids to go plunder his house. We should be looking for those pockets of evil in this world and reclaiming them by putting the goodness of God on display. Our goal is not to stay away from evil...we should be looking for it and going to war to reclaim it for Jesus. This week I'm looking for people and places that the enemy has convinced are beyond repair. I'm going in with the confidence that the demons recoil at the name of Jesus and I am going to take action by putting God's goodness on display. Seriously Nate...this isn't a scorecard comment but you gave our church a call last night that I am proud to be about.
So what was the moment for you last night? If you don't have a blog you can still leave comments anonymously by hitting the comment button and posting.

I just want to say that I have really experienced a lot of healing within the last 6 months, even though I fought it with every inch of my being, and the Stirring people have been a huge part of that. I am not completely to the point of really caring too much for what dreams God has for me but I do know that my desire to make solid connections with people has started to develope.. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that my husband and I lived together for a long time before we got married and I have a pretty wicked past with substance abuse so I felt judged everywhere except there, well most of the time, but I think that was just my giult showing up...so thanks.

p.s. Jared would LOVE the direction this community is taking, God dreamed HUGE in his short life and a lot of people were blessed because he was willing to let God's dreams play out in his life for others.

For me this week it was the moment when Nate said something about (and I paraphrase) the world never seeing that painting you could've painted but didn't (or book/poetry you never wrote, picture you never took, conversation you never had) all because you doubted the abilities God gave you to come alongside him and create a better world around you(end paraphrasing). Why do we fear the unknown, fear the rejection and the unanswerable? We've become rooted and paralyzed with that fear for far too long. Why not step forward with faith, stop doubting that God actually knows what He's doing and what gifts He gave us to come alongside him and create. For me it's the smile I give someone or the encouraging word that may change someone's path in life or the organization I can bless someone with. What would it look like if the world was looking to us Christ followers for the "creative edge" in art, photography, writing, love, community? What if? Just some thoughts...
